Jeff Agoos, a veteran of the U.S. National Team program since 1985 has played with the U.S. Under-15, Under-17, Under-20, Olympic, World University and Futsal Teams. Jeff Agoos displayed his versatility and endurance in 2000, becoming only the fifth player in National Team history to represent the USA on 100 occasions. He split time in a busy year between U.S. National Team, U.S. Olympic Team and D.C. United, playing a total of 40 games. He served as captain during Claudio Reyna's absence for crucial qualifier against Costa Rica in September. He moved between central and outside defensive positions and helped the USA record a season-record for clean sheets, playing in six of the nine shutouts on the year. He also played every minute of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, and contributed an assist on Dan Califf's goal vs. Kuwait and much more.
