With the tryouts for the FSSL Season 2008/2009 teams completed, Galactics has now finalized the rosters for all FSSL teams.  Galactics Premier, Galactics I, Galactics II and Galactics III will start competing this weekend, Sunday September 7th, with their first season games in the FSSL Premier, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Divisions respectively.

We would like to Congratulate the Tampa Bay Kickers for their great effort in winning the National Amateur Cup.  We know that you had a very difficult semi-final but were able to defeat Lazio 4 – 3 and then clinch the Cup by defeating  Baltimore Colts 3 -1.

The FSSL Season 2008/2009 kicks off September 7th for yet another exciting eight months of competitive adult soccer. This year Galactics participates for the first time ever with a team in the Premier Division, the highest level of amateur soccer. 

The Galactics Premier team played a friendly game versus the accomplished Seattle Wolves while in Seattle, Washington last weekend, August 9.  The game was a competitive battle between two Premier Division teams from complete opposite corners of the country. Galactics successfully stayed their ground throughout the game and played well, both defensively as well as offensively.  One goal in the first half and another in the second sent the Clearwater team soaring with a 2:0 victory.

The Galactics Premier Team is now not only getting ready for the upcoming FSSL (Florida Suncoast Soccer League) Premier Division Season 2008/2009, but is also going into full gear with preparations for the United States National Cup Finals 2008.  After team tryouts in June with over 50 players showing their best, a fresh Galactics Premier is now ready to take on the competition.  This tournament will take our highly successful team to Seattle, Washington, from August 7 - 10.

The Galactics Pirates (Galactics Over40 team) returned from far-away Washington State in triumph on Monday, July 14th.  After nearly one week, five games played and over 4000 miles traveled, our team now justifies the title - Top Over40 team in the US - after winning the 2008 USASA Veteran's Cup, O40 Premier Division...

One of Galactics' top teams, Galactics O40 - the Galactics Pirates, left Sunday, July 6, to far-away Washington State for the USASA Veteran's Cup.  This tournament is the  biggest veteran's (O30 - O60) tournament in the United States. A total of 85 teams from all over the country come together in Bellingham, Washington for  an exciting 6-day tournament.

Galactics held its Premier Team Soccer Tryouts last weekend at Canal Park in Oldsmar.  Over 50 players came to show their best, hoping to be selected for the Galactics Soccer Club top team, which will travel to Washington state for the USASA National Cup Finals in August this year.  Players were tested in training and games to form the select team Galactics Premier.

Two of the Galactics Premier Team's best players were chosen to participate in the USASA Elite Player National Soccer Camp . Oscar Carmona and Felipe Libreros left to California on Saturday, June 28th, for four days of playing with 50 fellow National selectees at the San Bernadino Soccer Complex.

Galactics F.C. went out-of-state once again in what was probably the biggest and most competitive game the team ever played.  On Tuesday, June 10th, Galactics faced the USL 2nd Division leading team, Charlotte Eagles, in Charlotte, South Carolina, for the first round of the US Open Lamar Hunt Cup. With this Galactics moved into a whole new realm; a tournament where USL (United Soccer Leagues) 1st Division, 2nd Division and PDL (Premier Development League) teams and ultimately MLS (Major League Soccer) teams enter the picture. 

Galactics won the FSSL 1st Division, the Florida State Cup, the National Cup for Florida and recently the USASA Region 3 Cup (see picture above), which makes them the best team in 11 states and qualified the team to participate in the prestigious and highly competitive US Open Lamar Hunt Cup.

Now, in one giant leap, Galactics moves into a whole new realm; a tournament where USL (United Soccer Leagues) 1st Division, 2nd Division and PDL (Premier Development League) teams and ultimately MLS (Major League Soccer) teams enter the picture. 

This coming Tuesday, June 10 at 7pm, Galactics will face the USL 2nd Division team, Charlotte Eagles, in Charlotte, North Carolin, for the 1st Round of the Lamar Hunt Cup.  Should Galactics win, it's on to the 2nd Round and a USL 1st Division adversary.  The 3rd Round then pitches Galactics against a MLS team, where they will be playing at the highest level of US soccer.

Galactics continues its victory run beyond state borders!  After winning the Florida State Championship title on April 20th in Jacksonville, Galactics had qualified to the USASA Region 3 National Cup, which was held in Jacksonville over the Memorial Day Weekend (May 22-26). This highly competitve tournament brought together the state champions of 11 different southeastern states (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi). 

Galactics Clearwater International F.C. will play in the US Open Lamar Hunt Cup.  Galactics' (USASA) 1st game will be against Charlotte Eagles (USL 2nd Division Team) Tuesday, June 10 at 7pm at Charlotte Christian School in Charlotte, NC.

By now quite notorious, the Galactics O40 Team, has made a name for itself over the past two years, by leading the FSSL O40 Division, winning the O40 State Cup Division twice in a row in 2007 and 2008 and ...

Galactics I, left Clearwater this morning to play the Region III Cup 2008 in Jacksonville, Fl.  This tournament brings together the state champions of 11 southern states (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi) to compete for the Region III Cup 2008 championship title.  The Region III champion then goes on to face all other US Regional Champions for the USASA National Cup 2008 Finals in Seattle, Washington, August 7-10, 2008.

Galactics Clearwater International F.C. celebrated the successful close of an excellent weekend at the State Cup Finals in Naples, Florida last Sunday, April 27th.  The soccer club left with four teams (Galactics I, Galactics II, Galactics III and Galactics Over40) to represent Clearwater at this biggest of Florida's tournaments and to compete for the championship trophies in four different State Cup divisions (Florida Cup, President's Cup, Chairman's Cup and Over40 Cup).  The four teams, playing in the FSSL 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Over40 divisions had qualified themselves for the State Cup Finals after winning the State Cup qualifiers on the weekend of April 6th.

Galactics Clearwater International F.C. will be representing Clearwater with 4 teams at this years State Cup Finals Weekend in Naples. Galactics I, Galactics II, Galactics III and Galactics O40 will compete in Florida's top tournament this weekend April 26 - 27.  Galactics I and Galactics O40 return to defend their Championship titles from last year's tournament.

Galactics I is the Florida Champion of the US Men's Open Cup 2008.  The team celebrated a 5:2 victory against Lynch's Irish Pub in Jacksonville last Sunday, April 20th.  Galatics will now represent Florida along with four other teams at the Region III tournament in Orange Park, May 23-26.  From there the road will take our team all the way to Washington State for the National Cup Finals in August.

• Galactics I is playing in the Florida State Cup 2008 with the first game this Sunday at 11:00am versus SPFC Knights in Puryear Park, St. Petersburg.

• Galactics II plays in the final of the Second Division Cup 2008 against Dirtbox F.C. in Canalpark, Oldsmar at 10:00am.

• Galactics III faces Juvenil F.C. in Stuart for their first game in the Chairman's Cup 2008 at 3:00pm.

• Galactics O40 starts plays the Men's O40 Cup with a 1st game versus Broward Select in Coral Springs at 6:00pm.

Our Galactics O40A Team played a great game against Carrollwood International, Wednesday, March 12th, at Phillip Jones Park. Our 13 players beat the 17 Carrollwooders 1:0 in what surely was the best O40A Game this FSSL Season 2007/08.  The goal was and excellent pass from Ronal Valderrama to Ralf Gerhardt, who outdid the goalie, playing the ball to Pablo Santa Cruz and SCORE!

In 2007 Galactics Soccer Club attended various highly competitive tournaments in Florida and other East Coast locations, such as South Carolina and Georgia. Most times our teams left the tournament triumphantly with the winning trophy in hand... 

The FSSL Over-40 league is one of the most interesting leagues in Tampa Bay area. Many former professionals are playing in this league, like the famous super-star from Colombia, Carlos "El Pibe" Valderrama. Other clubs dominated the league over the last years, Carollwood International from Tampa and Clearwater Chargers. But the time has changed...
