USA Wins The Gold!

Congratulations to the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, gold medal winners for the third time in four Olympics after defeating Brazil, 1-0, in overtime. Carli Lloyd’s 98th-minute strike proved to be the game-winner, as Hope Solo and the U.S. defense held strong in the waning minutes of overtime to ensure a victory celebration. The win is especially meaningful for the Americans, as Brazil eliminated the U.S. by a 4-0 margin in a World Cup semifinal contest a year ago.

Galactics Soccer Club will participate in the 13th annual Radio Disney Back to School Bash in the Tampa Convention Center on August 2 and 3, 2008. The Back to School Bash is a two-day fun-filled and interactive event for kids of all ages..  There will be music, games, giveaways, face painting and much more.

Galactics kick off grand opening festivities of one of the biggest contstriction machinery manufacturors in the world.  Festivities were literally “kicked off” with the first annual Coastal Caisson Soccer Tournament consisting of 5 teams made up of Coastal Caisson employees and family members, and a Bauer team from Germany led by Mr. Bliss, who played as the Bauer team goalkeeper. Galactics Clearwater International F.C. participated in a drug education seminar at the Life Force Cultural Arts Academy in Greenwood in celebration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse on June 26.  This event, presented by the Organizaiton for a Drug-Free World, helped to educate better than 100 predominantly African-American children on the effects of drugs.  Galactics was invited to present soccer as a means to succeed in life and to stay healthy and drug-free.

Galactics Clearwater International F.C. celebrated its 2nd Anniversary with a formal dinner Saturday Evening at the Galactics Club House.  Staff, Sponsors and Honor Members raised their glasses in a toast to all that Galactics has already accomplished and to all the goals ahead.

Our Galactics International Soccer Festival 2007 was a BIG success. Close to 2,000 spectators and all the invited soccer super stars like Carlos "El Pibe" Valderrama and Tab Ramos enjoyed the festival and the highlight in the afternoon with the exhibition game versus the Galactics Masters.

There is one common denominator between spectators and participants: everybody wants to come again to the next Galactics International Soccer Festival in 2008.
